Last updated October 15, 2026. These terms apply when you use makesoshi.com and anything you create, order or request through Soshi.
1. What Soshi does
Soshi helps you design custom products and sell them. Products are made to order by our print and production partners (such as Printful, Printify and Shapeways), one at a time or in small batches, and shipped to you or your buyers.
2. Who can use Soshi
You must be at least 18 to create an account, buy, back a batch, sell or get paid on Soshi. If you use Soshi for a business, you confirm you can agree to these terms for it. Keep your login to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens on your account.
3. Your designs and uploads
You keep ownership of what you upload and create. You give Soshi permission to use it only to run the service: to make previews and production files, to show it to you, and to send it to the partners who make your order.
You promise that you own everything you upload or ask us to make, or that you have a license or permission to use it. That includes logos, trademarks, team, school, league and brand marks, characters, artwork, photos, names and likenesses. If you upload or request something like that, you confirm you have the rights to it every time.
You alone are responsible for your designs. Soshi doesn’t check who owns the things you upload or ask for, doesn’t give legal advice, and isn’t responsible for whether your design, product or listing infringes anyone’s rights. Soshi only makes and ships what you designed. Soshi isn’t affiliated with, sponsored by or licensed by any team, league, school, brand or rights owner whose marks appear in a customer’s design, and no product made through Soshi is officially licensed unless the seller says so and holds that license.
If you sell a fan-inspired design, you’re responsible for describing it honestly, including any disclaimer that it isn’t affiliated with or licensed by the team, league or brand. A disclaimer doesn’t give you rights you don’t have.
You’ll protect Soshi. If anyone makes a claim, demand or lawsuit against Soshi (or its partners, the companies that make and ship orders) because of something you uploaded, asked us to make, sold or listed, you agree to defend Soshi, pay any damages, settlements, fines and costs, including reasonable legal fees, and hold Soshi harmless. Soshi may also cancel the order, remove the item and close your shop, without a refund for items already made.
Soshi may refuse a request, remove an item, or suggest an original design instead when something looks like someone else’s property, and will remove anything a rights owner reports (see section 11).
4. Previews and AI
Previews are made with AI to show what your product could look like. The finished product can differ in color, scale and detail. Prices are shown before you pay; delivery dates are estimates.
5. Orders, payment and refunds
Products are made to order. Prices, shipping and any tax are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe; Soshi doesn’t store your card number. Because items are made just for you, if something isn’t right, contact us and we’ll work it out with you. If your item arrives damaged, defective or different from what you ordered, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we’ll replace or refund it.
6. Made to order
Nothing is ordered, paid or put into production without your approval. A production partner may decline a design it can’t make; if that happens we’ll tell you and refund anything you paid for it. Soshi doesn’t guarantee that a product will work for a particular purpose or can be sold. If you sell a product, you’re responsible for any safety testing, certification or labeling it legally needs.
7. You’re the brand owner
When you have a product made through Soshi, you are the brand owner of that product. You decide what it is, what it’s for, who it’s sold to and how it’s labeled and marketed.
You’re responsible for the information you give us — ingredients, allergens, materials, intended use, age range, sizes and any claims about what the product does. Our production partners make your product from that information, so it must be complete and true.
Food, drinks, supplements, cosmetics, children’s products, and anything electrical, heated, worn on skin or used with food can carry legal requirements (for example FDA and CPSIA rules, safety testing, certification and labeling). Before you sell or give away these products, you’re responsible for making sure they meet those requirements. Soshi can point you to testing labs, but Soshi does not certify that a product is safe, compliant or fit for a purpose.
Previews, AI suggestions and product notes are guidance, not engineering, safety or legal advice. Soshi never claims a product is food-safe, waterproof, heat-safe, flame-safe, skin-safe or safe for children unless the production partner has documented it.
You agree to cover Soshi’s reasonable costs, including legal fees, of any claim that comes from information you gave us being wrong or incomplete, from how you marketed, labeled or sold the product, or from you not meeting a legal requirement for it.
8. Things we don’t make
Weapons and weapon parts, explosives, drug paraphernalia, counterfeit or knock-off goods, items that copy someone else’s trademarks without a license, and anything unsafe or illegal to sell.
9. Selling on Soshi
If you sell through a Soshi shop, you agree to these terms for your listings too. Soshi keeps a platform fee from each sale, shown before you list.
10. Crowdfunded batches and pre-orders
A creator can pre-sell a batch on Soshi. Each campaign shows its price, its goal (the number of pieces needed to make the batch), its deadline and an estimated ship date.
All or nothing. When you back a batch, you save a card with Stripe and nothing is charged. If the goal is reached by the deadline, you authorize Soshi to charge that card the amount shown when you pledged (price × quantity, plus shipping and any sales tax). If the goal isn’t reached, or the creator cancels before the deadline, your pledge is released and you aren’t charged.
You can cancel your pledge any time before the deadline. If your card can’t be charged when the batch is funded, we’ll email you and you’ll have 7 days to pay; after that your pledge is released.
Late batches. Funded batches are made after the campaign ends, so ship dates are estimates. If a batch won’t ship by its estimated date, we’ll email you a new date and you can cancel for a full refund (including shipping and tax) instead of waiting. If it’s late again, we’ll tell you again. If Soshi can’t get your batch made and shipped, you’ll get a full refund. Section 5 applies once it arrives.
Creators: your price must cover the production cost and Soshi’s fee, which are shown before you launch. Your earnings are what’s left after the production cost, Soshi’s fee and card fees, and are paid to your payout account after the batch is delivered. If a backer is refunded after your batch is funded (for example because it ran late or arrived damaged), the production cost and card fee for those pieces are taken out of your earnings. Section 7 applies to everything you crowdfund.
Pre-orders. Some items are sold before they’re made, with a “ships by” date. You pay when you order. If a pre-order won’t ship by its date, we’ll email you a new date and you can cancel for a full refund instead of waiting. Creators who sell pre-orders are responsible for shipping each order once their batch arrives.
11. Trademarks, copyright and takedowns
If you believe something on Soshi uses your trademark or copyrighted work without permission, report it here. We review every report and remove infringing items.
Copyright notices (DMCA). Soshi responds to notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Send them to our designated copyright agent: Copyright Agent, Soshi, hello@makesoshi.com. A notice must include: your physical or electronic signature; the work you say was copied; where the copying is on Soshi (a link); your name, address, phone and email; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you’re the owner or authorized to act for them.
Counter-notices. If we remove something of yours and you believe it was a mistake or you have permission, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with your signature, what was removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the U.S., any district where Soshi can be found). We may restore it 10 to 14 business days after we forward your counter-notice unless the person who complained tells us they’ve filed a lawsuit.
Repeat infringers. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly upload or sell infringing items.
12. Suspending or closing accounts
You can close your account any time from Settings. Soshi may remove listings or campaigns, pause payouts, or suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, is used for fraud, chargeback abuse or infringement, or puts buyers, backers, partners or Soshi at risk. When we can, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix it. Open orders and funded batches are still completed or refunded, and earnings you’ve legitimately made are paid out, minus refunds, chargebacks and amounts you owe Soshi.
13. Limits
Soshi is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Soshi isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Soshi for the order involved. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
14. Disputes: arbitration and no class actions
Please read this carefully. It affects your rights. If you have a problem, email hello@makesoshi.com first; most things get fixed that way. If we can’t resolve it within 60 days, you and Soshi agree to settle any dispute about Soshi or these terms by binding individual arbitration instead of in court, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may go to court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
Arbitration will be run by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, by video or phone or in the county where you live. Soshi will pay the filing and arbitrator fees beyond what you’d pay to file in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.
No class actions. You and Soshi may each bring claims only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative action, and an arbitrator can’t combine claims of more than one person.
Opting out. You can opt out of this section within 30 days of creating your account by emailing hello@makesoshi.com with “arbitration opt-out” and your account email. If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the class-action waiver still applies; if the waiver itself is unenforceable, this whole section doesn’t apply to that dispute.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, except where Section 14 says the Federal Arbitration Act applies. If we make a material change, we’ll post the new date here and, for changes that affect your rights, tell you by email before they apply. Questions: hello@makesoshi.com.
