Selling pre-orders from a factory batch
Once your factory batch is ordered, you can sell pieces of it before it arrives, then ship each order yourself.
If you’ve ordered a batch from a factory through Soshi, you can sell pieces of it before it arrives.
Starting pre-orders
- Pre-orders open once your batch is ordered with the factory. You also need a shop set up.
- Set your price per piece (at least the factory price per piece, so you don’t lose money) and how many pieces to sell (up to the number in your batch).
- It goes live right away with a ships-by date: the factory’s lead time plus about a week for you to receive the batch.
Shipping the orders
Buyers pay when they order. When your batch arrives, you ship each order and add its tracking number in Orders. Buyers get a shipped email.
If it’s running late
If an order hasn’t shipped by its date, the buyer is emailed a new date and can cancel for a full refund instead of waiting.
Stopping pre-orders
You can stop taking pre-orders anytime. Orders already placed still need to ship.
What you earn: Soshi’s fee still applies, but the making cost isn’t taken out again since you already paid the factory, and you keep the shipping charge because you ship it.
