Who handles safety testing?

You do. As the brand owner, you’re responsible for any testing, certification or labels your product legally needs.

When you have a product made through Soshi, you’re the brand owner. You decide what it is, who it’s for, and how it’s labeled and marketed.

What that means

  • If you sell a product, you’re responsible for any safety testing, certification or labeling it legally needs.
  • Food, drinks, supplements, cosmetics, children’s products, and anything electrical, heated, worn on skin or used with food can carry legal requirements (for example FDA and CPSIA rules).
  • The information you give us, like materials, intended use, age range and any claims, must be complete and true. Partners make your product from it.

What Soshi does and doesn’t do

  • Soshi can point you to testing labs.
  • Soshi doesn’t certify that a product is safe, compliant or fit for a purpose.
  • Soshi never claims a product is food-safe, waterproof, heat-safe, flame-safe, skin-safe or safe for children unless the production partner has documented it.

The full details are in section 7 of the Terms of Service.
